A Post-Apocalyptic Dystopia

Bat Out of Hell: The Musical at The Alexandra Theatre ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Set in a post-apocalyptic, dystopian city of Obsidian in the year 2030. A gang of 18 year olds who have been frozen at that age for years after the “Chemical Wars” wreaked havoc on the city. Obsidian, which is now run by the tyrant Falcon and his corporation are at war with “The Lost” the self appointed name given to frozen teenagers.

The whole story is steeped in the remanence of Peter Pan and Romeo & Juliet mixed with music composed by Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf. Whilst watching @batthemusical at the @thealexbham you get a really feel of 80’s American nostalgia and comic books. The live music is fantastic, the singing unbelievable and the stage/costume design is absolutely stunning. This show is a delight for all the senses.

A massive shout out the a selection of the main characters:

Falco ( @realrobfowler )

Sloan ( @shar.sexton )

Raven ( @marthakirby )

Strat ( @glenn_adamson_ )

Tink ( @kigatho )

A massive shout out to @smallhousebigtrips for giving us the opportunity to see this musical and all the theatre recommendations on her page 🥰

Bat the musical was on at The Alexandra until January 15th. Tickets were around £50 each, we sat in the stalls, row Q on the right. These are okay but it’s nearly flat and if you get a tall person in front it would be hard to see.

This is a very good musical with an incredibly talented cast, dancers/singers and band. We would give this show a 4 out of 5 and definitely recommend if you love 80’s rock and musicals.

A very tasty snack
