PRESS RELEASE: Central England Co-Op To Host Fairtrade Wine Tasting Event
Just in time for Fairtrade Fortnight, the Central England Co-operative have announced a free online wine tasting event called Read Between The Vines hosted in collaboration with The Wine Events Company.

Wine lovers from around the central region are invited to discover the world of Fairtrade wines at this live 60-minute event, where they will learn all about the basics of wine tasting and enjoy a fun-packed evening full of games and activities.
Tony Elvin, Sommelier and Wine Educator, says, “During the evening we’ll be talking about and tasting four fantastic fair-trade wines, three from South Africa and a fourth from Chile. All four wines will give us plenty to talk about, not least one from the legendary South African wine producer Vergelegen, a winery with 320 years of wine making experience whose wines are commonly found on some of the world’s finest wine lists.”
Participants in the event will also learn how every bottle they buy can have an impact on the lives of the Fairtrade farmers and workers who grew the grapes.
Tony adds, “The aim is to let people know that they can get great wine at great value prices, whilst still making sure that the producers get a fair price for their produce.”
The event will be taking place via Zoom on Wednesday, 2nd March at 7pm, right in the middle of Fairtrade Fortnight which runs from 21 February to 6 March.
