The Mount in Henley in Arden
We have another new opening for you and this one is from Glynn Purnell of @purnellsrestaurant in Birmingham, Michelin starred Purnells.
Glynn opened @themountpubhenley last Wednesday 23rd in Henley in Arden to a fully booked crowd and when I say fully booked I mean fully booked till May 18th 😳 So if you want a table for Lunch or dinner then get yourself booked in ASAP. @themountpubhenley had a standing bar area, seats out front, bar tables and a massive terrace and lawned area out back. This place will look stunning this summer in the sun.
We ate from the A La Carte menu and had Beetroot cured salmon and classic scotch egg for our starters, Free range chicken breast and battered day boat fish and chips for our mains and Purnell’s G&T as drinks. We also had some oils and bread for the table. The food cost £55, two Gins where £24 (£12 each) a little steep for a G&T tbh and the bread was £3. We unfortunately didn’t have desserts as we were given the menu but ended up waiting nearly 25mins before someone came over to take our order, at that point we just had the bill. Just so you are aware there is an automatic 10% service charge added on to all table sizes.
The decor is lovely and the art fantastic and you can actually buy the art too. @themountpubhenley is definitely worth a visit if you are taking a trip to Henley or Stratford, but definitely book in advance.
The black pudding scotch egg was fantastic, next up, the bar menu with the Purnell’s burger 🤤
Highly recommend 👍🏼 really can’t wait to pop back in the sun during the day for cider and burgers.
